Spalwart was born after a chance visit to an old Slovakian Factory, where the treasure of long forgotten machinery and moulds were stumbled upon. With 20 years experience of working in the shoe design industry, Christoffer Brattin and Fredrik Johansson decided that the time was right in 2010 to start their own brand with shoes manufactured in the same plant, with the same moulds and machinery since the 1950’s, creating footwear with a non-perfect but characteristic beauty. The Marathon Trail Low from Swedish brand Spalwart Spalwart is a trail-ready trainer constructed from unusual, functional materials airbag fabric and premium suede.
